Woman stabbed during street robbery midtown

A woman was injured during a street robbery in the midtown area Sunday afternoon.
Officers responded to a call for reports that a woman had been stabbed with a wine opener in the Merton Street and Mount Pleasant road area around 3:15 p.m.
Police say the alleged stabbing took place during a street robbery and the suspect took the woman’s purse. Her injuries are not considered serious.
The suspect fled the scene in a small or midsize SUV.
He is described as a black male with a thin build, wearing a blue hooded top.
