Old City Hall Cenotaph vandalized overnight

By News Staff

Toronto police are investigating after the Old City Hall Cenotaph was vandalized overnight.

Officers were notified of the incident around 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The writing spray-painted on the front of the cenotaph appears to say “Ye Broke Faith” and on the back it says “With Us.”

This comes just one day after Remembrance Day ceremonies took place at the foot of the cenotaph, which honours Canadian soldiers who have died in war.

Crews arrived at the Cenotaph around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning to remove the graffiti.
