1 dead in collision on Hwy 405, at Queenston-Lewiston Bridge

One person is dead and another was critically injured after a collision on the U.S. bound Highway 405 at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in a tweet that only one vehicle was involved in the crash.

The driver, a 73-year-old man from Burlington, was pronounced dead on scene while a passenger, a 74-year-old man from Burlington, was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Access to the U.S. remains open via the commercial vehicle lanes.

There is no word on what caused the crash at this time.
