Edibles and new marijuana products are scheduled to hit Ontario Cannabis Store shelves next week. Adrian Ghobrial with how the government is trying to compete with the black market amid huge demand and limited supply.

Edibles will be coming to Ontario Cannabis Store locations starting next week.

David Lobo with the OCS made the announcement at a press conference on Friday.

Lobo said initial deliveries to OCS stores will begin on Monday and include a large number of vaping products, some edibles and teas.

Marijuana beverages will be made available to the public late February or early March. Cannabis tea will be the only beverage made available from the OCS beginning next week.

The OCS says it’s confident the rollout of edibles will help them combat the illegal market.

However, they do acknowledge that product supply will initially “be limited.”

Edible marijuana products won’t be coming to the OCS website until Jan. 16.

Cannabis edibles, extracts and topicals became legal in Canada in October of last year.
