Unsung Hero: Heather Shaw

62 year old Heather Shaw, is a mother of 4 and grandmother of 3, and serves as a personal support worker at Kensington Gardens long term care home in Toronto. Shaw says she loves her job and she treats residents like family.
Shaw has done her best to keep seniors’ spirits up during the COVID-19 crisis, especially when they can’t see their families.
Toronto resident Irene Lim knows all about that. Her 83 year old mother Lila is a resident at Kensington Gardens. She say she couldn’t see her mom for months, but it was comforting to know that Shaw was there with her.
Lim says Shaw went above and beyond to provide all the care her mom needed, including some much needed laughter.
Lim has nicknamed Shaw – “Mom’s Angel”.
