Toronto firefighters doused a two-alarm fire at an apartment building in the city’s core Monday evening.
Fire said they were called to a building at 96 Gerrard Street East at around 10:38 p.m.
Crews were met by heavy smoke, but the fire was quickly put out, Toronto fire said.
A TTC shelter bus was brought to the scene so building residents had a place to go as fire crews investigated the blaze.
It appears the blaze started in an electrical room, but the incident remains under investigation, fire said.
No injuries were reported.
