GTHA mayors want clarity from province, feds over sick leave for workers with COVID-19

By The Canadian Press

A group of Ontario mayors wants federal and provincial governments to address workers’ fears about losing money over a COVID-19 diagnosis.

The group of leaders from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area say people are going to work with symptoms because they are afraid of losing jobs or income if they test positive for COVID-19.

Toronto Mayor John Tory says people are confused about whether they are covered by current federal supports for workers.

Tory says policy changes are needed to ensure everyone can get a COVID-19 test without fear.
