Crane damages 2 pedestrian bridges to Ontario Place

A section of Lake Shore Boulevard is closed after a transport truck loaded with a crane struck two pedestrian bridges leading to Ontario Place Thursday morning.

Police said the truck was heading westbound when it struck the pedestrian overpasses that connect Exhibition Place to Ontario Place and kept going.

There has been no word on the extent of damage caused to the bridges.

Lake Shore is closed in both directions from Ontario Drive to Newfoundland Road while crews assess the damage.
