Rexall is closing down its pharmacy in what was the former Brunswick House pub at the corner of Bloor Street and Brunswick Avenue.
The pharmacy chain moved in to the location once occupied by the longtime favorite bar of University of Toronto students four years ago, but a spokesperson for the chain tells 680 NEWS that it is now moving out due to a lack of traffic.
“The community and retail buildings around the Rexall located at 481 Bloor Street West in Toronto have seen a very heavy decline in traffic since COVID–19 protocols have been in place. As a result, we have made the difficult decision of permanently closing this location,” said Andrew Forgione, spokesman for Rexall.
The location has been giving out COVID-19 vaccines, leading some to joke that shots were once again on the menu at the Brunswick House.
“Patients who are on our waitlist for their second dose of COVID-19 vaccines will also be proactively transitioned to nearby locations,” added Forgione.
Rexall said that those using the Brunswick House location will be “cared for and served by a Rexall located nearby and their prescriptions will be transferred during the transition.”
