According to a release, anyone who lives, works, or goes to school anywhere in York Region can register for their vaccine, as long as they’re 12 or older. York is the latest region in the GTA to offer vaccines to people of this age group.
Currently, Pfizer is the only COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in anyone between the ages of 12-15 in Canada.
Anyone 13 or younger will require a parent or guardian to provide their consent at the time of vaccination. Additionally, they will have to be 12 at the time of their appointment.
To register for your COVID-19 vaccine, you can head to York Region’s website. As of May 20, 2021, over 65% of the region’s resident have received at least one dose. This is roughly 640,000 residents, according to a release from the region.
