Toronto police are investigating after a man was injured in a possible drive-by shooting Monday night.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in the area of Dufferin Street and Wallace Avenue, just north of Bloor Street, around 11:30 p.m.

According to police, two people were walking along the sidewalk on Wallace when a car pulled up alongside and a gunman fired.

Peter was at a friend’s house in the area at the time of the shooting and saw what happened.

“I seen two kids walking and arguing with, I believe it was, three passengers in a car … and I just heard one shot and I looked down the sidewalk and I seen one was down on the floor and his friend was talking to him until he called the cops,” he told CityNews.

“It’s tough, you don’t really expect stuff like this to happen but it is the city …. it’s hard to see stuff like this.”

The 20-year-old victim suffered a serious but not life-threatening injury to the stomach and was rushed to hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

No suspect description has been released.
