Arrest made in brazen shooting at Milton restaurant

Halton police have made an arrest in connection with Thursday’s shooting at a restaurant in Milton.

Shortly before 7 p.m. last night, a man armed with a long gun walked into the Pizza Nova on Derry Road near Bronte Street South and demanded cash from an employee. He then fired several shots inside the restaurant before exiting, where he discharged several more rounds before fleeing the area in a black vehicle.

No one was injured in the incident.

Halton police say around 10:30 a.m. Friday, a suspect was arrested without incident at a home in Milton and the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was also seized.

Polcie are withholding the name of the accused until he appears before a judge to formally be charged.
