Toronto Public Health (TPH) is recommending that the Viewmount branch of Eitz Chaim School be temporarily closed due to a COVID-19 investigation.
TPH says they are suggesting the entire school, located near Bathurst and Glencairn, be dismissed starting Monday as a precautionary measure “to protect staff, students and the community from further COVID-19 transmission within the school.”
In a series of tweets, TPH said close contacts have been notified, asked to monitor for symptoms and get tested.

It is unclear how many cases of COVID-19 were detected at the school and whether an outbreak has been officially declared.
An outbreak is two or more cases of the virus within a 14 day period, where one person could have possibly given COVID to another person.
TPH has also declared outbreaks at St. Pius X Catholic School, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School, and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati Catholic School.
