Man dead, woman arrested after domestic incident at home in Markham

A man has died and a woman arrested following a domestic incident at a home in Markham.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, York Regional Police were called to a residence near Sciberras Road and Highway 7 following reports that a man had been stabbed and seriously injured.
A 31-year-old male was transported to the hospital, where he later died. A 33-year-old woman was arrested at the home and charged with second-degree murder.
Police tell CityNews both parties will not be named to protect the identity of a young family member that was home at the time of the incident. That individual was not harmed, and there is no threat to the public.
One neighbour tells CityNews that the scene outside the home was unsettling.
“I couldn’t believe it when I had heard what happened. I am still in shock… for that to happen in this neighbourhood,” they said on Tuesday. “I’ve spoken to them a few times before. I am shaken, for sure.”
