Man, woman facing almost 30 charges following single-vehicle crash

A man and a woman are facing almost 30 charges in connection with a single-vehicle crash along Toronto’s waterfront on Saturday.

Police say the pair were travelling at more than 120 km/h on Lake Shore Boulevard West when the driver lost control, striking a concrete pole in the area of Remembrance Drive before the car ended up on its roof.

Investigators say a loaded Smith & Wesson 9 mm semi-automatic pistol was recovered and both occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest.

Matthew Stewart, 22, of Mississauga and Victoria Morrison, 29, of Windsor face a number of weapons, alcohol and speeding charges including dangerous operation, careless use/handle/storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, stunt driving and having an open container of liquor in a motor vehicle.
