Woman charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Brampton

Peel police have charged a 28-year-old woman with attempted murder following a stabbing that happened early Monday morning in Brampton.
Police say the incident took place around 2 a.m. inside a store in the area of Kennedy Road South and Queen Street East.
It is alleged the suspect, who didn’t know the victim, approached a woman in her 20’s and stabbed her.
The victim was initially taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. Her injuries have downgraded to non-life-threatening and she is now in stable condition.
Officers found the suspect inside the store and took her into custody.
On Tuesday, police said Neha Sharma of Brampton was held for a bail hearing after being charged on Monday.
