Elderly woman charged with murder after body found in Pickering

Police have charged an elderly woman with murder after a body was discovered in Pickering on Sunday night.
Durham police were investigating the suspicious death in north Pickering after a woman’s body was discovered at 10:30 p.m. near Concession Road 9 and Sideline 28.
The body was found in a heavily wooded area near a creek.
Police have charged a 72-year-old woman from Clarington with second degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is planned to help confirm the identity of the victim.
Police are asking anyone with information on the case to contact them.
