Toronto police have identified a murdered woman whose dismembered body was found in a garbage bag in Leslieville on Monday afternoon.
The victim is Tien Ly, 46, of Toronto.
Police say they believe she lived with her 20-year-old son, Dallas Ly, in the Carlaw Avenue and Dundas Street East area, and they’re currently trying to track him down.
In an update Wednesday night, police spokesperson, Alex Li, said at this time the son is not considered a suspect.
“At this point we are concerned for his wellbeing,” Li said.
“Due to the nature of this unfortunate homicide and the way we found the deceased woman … we’ve been unable to locate Dallas and that’s concerning.”
Police are now looking to speak with her son, 20 year old Dallas Ly. He’s not being called a suspect. Investigators say they’re concerned for his well-being after seeing the condition of their condo unit. pic.twitter.com/MpABkdSivO

Police were called to Eastern and Berkshire avenues at around 1:30 p.m. Monday after Ly’s remains were found on the south side of Eastern Avenue in a garbage bag.
On Tuesday night police released images of Ly’s distinct finger and toe nail designs, hoping to receive help identifying her.
Li said numerous people came forward, ultimately leading to her identification.
Ly is Toronto’s 17th homicide victim of 2022.
