A 27-year-old woman is facing charges after punching a police officer in the face at Friday night’s Blue Jays game.
Police say a man and a woman became involved in a physical altercation with several other fans in the 500 level at Rogers Centre just before 10:30 p.m.
Officers attempted to separate the groups and deescalate the situation, advising the man and woman to leave the stadium due to disorderly behaviour. That’s when police allege the woman turned and punched the officer in the face.
No significant injuries were reported by police.
The woman, who was not named by police, is facing charges of assaulting a police officer and intoxication in a public place.
