GO Transit begins seasonal weekend train service between Toronto, Niagara Falls

If you're looking to head out towards Niagara region, starting this weekend there will be GO Transit service from Toronto to Niagara. One adult ticket costs $10 there and back while kids can ride free.

If you’re looking to head to Niagara Falls for a day excursion, or visit with friends or family, you’ll now be able to take a GO train to get to the city.

GO Transit announced that as of Victoria Day long weekend, weekend train service on the network’s Lakeshore West will see three trips go between Toronto and Niagara Falls. The trains will also stop at Exhibition, Port Credit, Oakville, Burlington, Aldershot and St. Catharines GO stations.

Until the end of the Thanksgiving weekend, the trains will leave Union Station at 8:51 a.m., 12:51 p.m. and 4:51 p.m. The return trips will leave Niagara Falls at 11:15 a.m., 3:15 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

The train service will complement existing Route 12 buses, which connects all trains at Burlington GO station and the commuter parking lot at Dundas Street and Highway 407.

For those who want to bring bikes, three of the train coaches have bike storage.

News of the extra services came amid a push to increase weekend train ridership. The transit agency has $10 weekend day passes and $15 passes for the whole weekend, both of which can be bought online.
