Man found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in Brampton park

One man is dead after being found with multiple gunshot wounds in a Brampton park late Monday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting near Bramalea Road and Bovaird Drive, but no victims were found there.

About 45 minutes later, they were called to intersection of Heart Lake and Copperfield Road to reports of someone driving erratically in a residential area. The caller reported the car had then continued into an area of White Spruce Park where it came to a stop.

Police arrived on the scene to find the victim located outside of the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at the scene. It’s unknown whether the victim was the driver or the passenger of the vehicle.

Police say the two incidents are connected, but it’s unknown whether the victim was shot at the first location, in between or near the park. They believe it’s an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.

There has been no suspect information released as this time.

This is Peel’s 11th homicide of 2022.
