Multiple homes evacuated after townhouse fire in Mississauga

One firefighter has been injured after a fire broke out at a townhouse complex in Mississauga on Sunday afternoon.
Peel police say it happened just after 2 p.m. at 2869 Battleford Road, in the area of Glen Erin Drive and Meadowvale Town Centre Circle.
The City says extensive damage was done to the roof and attic space, and 36 units had been impacted.

Drivers in the area were being advised to use alternate routes.
The City says crews will remain on scene overnight and the cause of the investigation is still underway.
Crews will be meeting with the Office of the Fire Marshal on Monday.
