Man seriously injured after daylight shooting in Vaughan

Police in York Region are on the hunt for suspects after a man was brazenly shot and critically injured in Vaughan.
Investigators were called to a plaza parking lot near Highway 7 and Pine Valley Road shortly after 2 p.m. for reports of shots fired in the area.
When officers arrived, they located an adult man suffering from serious gunshot wounds.
Staff Sgt. David Mitchell says it’s believed the victim, a man in his 40s, was shot while inside his vehicle, which investigators will search and examine.
Mitchell says the suspect fled the scene. No description has been made available, and a firearm was not recovered.
Police are asking anyone with information on this incident or video of the area to contact them.
