Lane closures on Queen’s Park as work begins to make Museum Station more accessible

By Laura Carney and Patricia D'Cunha

The TTC is starting work Monday to make Museum Station more accessible, which will result in some lane closures in the area around the station on Queen’s Park.

The $26-million project includes building two new elevators at the station and a secondary entrance/exit at Queen’s Park Circle.

To accommodate the work, lane restrictions will be in place on Queen’s Park, between Bloor Street West and Queen’s Park Circle.

Two southbound lanes, one northbound lane and a cycling detour will remain open through the first phase of construction, which is expected to last until the end of this year.

Drivers trying to get north of the area can use Bay Street or St. George Street as alternate routes.

The construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

As part of its Easier Access plan, the TTC is looking to make all of its stations accessible by 2025. So far, 55 TTC stations are accessible.
