SIU investigating multi-vehicle crash in Rexdale that sent 3 to hospital

Ontario’s police watchdog has taken over an investigation after three people were taken to a hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Rexdale.
Toronto police were called to the scene on Kipling Avenue, just north of Rexdale Boulevard, around 2 p.m. on Monday.
Two people suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and a third had minor injuries.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has taken over the investigation, though the circumstances are unclear.
The SIU investigates the conduct of officials, including police officers, that may have resulted in death, serious injury, sexual assault, or a firearm’s discharge at a person.
