By Lucas Casaletto

Toronto police are investigating a hate crime after a city park in the east end was defaced with graffiti on separate occasions.

Investigators were called to Monarch Park, located in the Coxwell Avenue and Danforth Avenue area, for reports of mischief.

It was determined that on Nov. 8, an unknown person spray painted hate-related graffiti on a building within the park and on another nearby building.

A week later, on Nov. 17, someone spray-painted hate-related graffiti on another building within Monarch Park.

It is being investigated as a hate crime, and police have not confirmed whether the same person is responsible.
