Man killed in early morning downtown stabbing; suspects arrested

A man is dead following an early morning stabbing in the downtown core.

Paramedics tell CityNews 680 they were called to an area near York Street and University Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

A man was transported to a nearby trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

Police have not commented on the circumstances surrounding the incident except to say that a group of individuals have been taken into custody but no charges have been laid.
