School bus cancellations in GTA ahead of freezing rain on Thursday

Toronto and the GTA are in for a mix of wintry precipitation on Thursday and it is expected to make for a messy morning commute.

The incoming weather has led to several school bus cancellations across the region. A full breakdown by school board can be found below.

Environment Canada says the conditions will have a “significant impact” on the morning rush hour in urban areas before the freezing rain transitions to rain or drizzle by the afternoon. The entire region remains under a freezing rain warning.

GTA school bus cancellations for Thursday

 

Toronto

No word yet on any bus cancellations. Schools are open.

 

Peel Region

School buses are cancelled today in Zone 3, affecting both the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. Schools remain open.

York Region

All school buses are cancelled today for the York Region DSB and York Catholic DSB. Schools remain open.

Halton Region

School buses are cancelled today in Zones 2 and 3 for the Halton DSB and Halton Catholic board. Schools remain open.

Durham Region

All school buses have been cancelled today for both the Durham District School Board and the Durham Catholic District School Board for all zones (1, 2, 3, and 4). Schools remain open.
