Man charged in ‘unprovoked’ attack with broken bottle on TTC subway

By Lucas Casaletto

Toronto police have arrested and charged a man in an alleged unprovoked attack on a TTC subway car in the city’s east end.

Authorities were called to Chester Subway Station on Sunday around 1 p.m. for reports of an assault.

Investigators say the suspect broke a bottle on a handrail and, in an unprovoked attack, proceeded to stab a man in the face, causing facial injuries.

The suspect then fled the scene.

On Friday, officers arrested 34-year-old Kyle Pecoskie of Toronto. He’s been charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a release order.

He appeared in court this morning.
