A child is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in the York Mills Road and Leslie Street area on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened as the 11-year-old boy was crossing the road around 3:30 p.m., Toronto police tweeted.

The intersection of York Mills and Chipstead Road was blocked off for the investigation.
