Hidden camera found in Aritzia employee washroom, Halton police investigating

Police in Halton Region and women’s fashion retailer Aritzia are investigating after a hidden camera was discovered inside an employee washroom at Toronto Premium Outlets.

CityNews was sent an anonymous tip late on Tuesday alleging the small camera was located, and the Aritzia store at the Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills was aware of the device.

A spokesperson with Halton police confirmed with CityNews that authorities were notified of the incident last week and that investigators were looking into the allegations. No other information was provided.

An Aritzia spokesperson said store representatives learned of the camera’s presence on Friday, May 26. An internal investigation was launched that same day.

“A police investigation also commenced immediately the same day, and we are continuing to work together with them,” the retailer’s spokesperson noted.

“The safety of our employees and clients is paramount to us, and we are taking every possible step to address this matter and support our team members.”

Aritzia called it an isolated incident and said it involved one employee washroom at the store, adding that no other public areas were impacted.
