Police arrest 3 in separate Brampton shootings believed to be linked

Peel regional police have arrested three suspects in connection to two Brampton shootings that investigators believed are connected.

The first incident took place on Thursday, March 30, 2023, in the Dixie Road and Moregate Crescent area just before 8 p.m.

Police say there was an altercation between two groups outside a residence and a gun was fired.

The suspects fled in a silver BMW sedan.

Two people suffered non life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting took place on Thursday, June 15, 2023, near Williams Parkway and Pertosa Drive at around 6:20 p.m.

Two groups got involved in an argument and once again a gun was produced and fired, with the suspects fleeing in a silver BMW sedan.

Two people were treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Two days later, on June 17, police executed a search warrant at a Brampton residence where they allegedly seized a sawed-off shotgun and arrested three people.

Justin Soares, 24, of Brampton, Michael Stewart, 19, of Brampton and Rakquan Wickland, 26, of Cambridge are all facing charges, including attempted murder.
