Three boys arrested after robbing Etobicoke pharmacy with knife: Police

Three teenage boys are in custody following a robbery at a pharmacy in north Etobicoke.

Toronto police say officers responded to a robbery call on Friday at a retail pharmacy in the area of Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive.

Police allege three boys entered the business while wearing masks. One boy stood by the entrance while the other two went behind the pharmacy counter.

One of the suspects behind the counter allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded money and drugs. The three boys fled the area with a quantity of cash and medication.

Responding officers were able to quickly locate the suspects and take them into custody. The officers recovered a knife, cash, and drugs.

Three boys from Toronto, aged 17, 16 and 15, are facing two charges each, including armed robbery.

The trio appeared in a Toronto courtroom on Saturday morning. The suspects cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
