Police are searching for suspects after a man was fatally gunned down at the front door of a Brampton home on Monday night.

Officers from Peel Regional Police were called to a residence near Parity Road and Argelia Crescent, in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street, around 10:20 p.m.

An injured man in his 60s was located at the home and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police tell CityNews the victim was shot in the doorway of the home and likely answered a knock at the door. The suspect or suspects were standing outside and opened fire when the victim appeared.

Witnesses say they heard four shots and then heard a woman screaming. The woman was a family member of the victim who was also inside the home at the time the shots were fired.

“I’m pretty sure they knocked on the door and just barged right in,” says a neighbour who was out for a walk at the time.

Police believe it was a targeted incident.

Investigators said suspects were seen fleeing the area in a dark-coloured, four-door SUV, believed to be a Honda Pilot.. A description of the suspects has not been provided.
