Woman has serious injuries after being struck by vehicle in Scarborough

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Scarborough.

Emergency crews were called to Kingston Road and Claremore Avenue, west of Midland Avenue, around 6:45 a.m. for reports that someone was hit by a vehicle.

Paramedics told CityNews the woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening condition. Police later provided an update saying she had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver involved remained at the scene. Photos from the scene show a silver car with extensive front end damage.

There is no word what caused the crash.

Kingston Road was closed in both directions at Claremore for the investigation but the roads have since reopened.
