Man facing a dozen charges in four separate robberies in north Toronto

A 34-year-old man is facing a dozen charges related to a series of armed robberies in north Toronto.

Police say from December 12, 2023, to January 8, 2024, a man wearing a disguise entered four separate establishments in the areas of Islington Avenue and Albion Road, Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive, Albion Road and Elmhurst Drive, and Wilson Avenue and Northgate Drive.

In each instance, the man posed as a customer before producing a handgun and fleeing with a quantity of cash.

No one was physically injured in each of the robberies.

Shortly after the last robbery, investigators located the man and took him into custody. A search of the man’s home uncovered a quantity of narcotics and items related to the thefts.

Charmare Jermaine Crawford of Toronto is facing four counts of robbery with a firearm, four counts of disguise with intent, three counts of drug possession/trafficking, and assault with a weapon.
