A man who was shot and killed in North York on Monday morning has been identified.

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) said officers responded to the Jane Street and Lawrence Avenue area just before 7:30 a.m.

One male victim was located with gunshot wounds on the northwest corner of the intersection.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Anthony McBean, 42, of Toronto.

Authorities are actively working to determine when the fatal shooting took place.

“We are investigating the possibility that the victim was shot in the early hours this morning,” Duty Insp. Todd Jocko said during an update later Monday morning.

Jocko did not reveal the victim’s exact age, but confirmed he’s an adult male. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds, he added.

No suspect information is available at this time, and investigators are appealing to the public for help.
