One man dead after two-vehicle collision on Highway 48 in Brock

Provincial police say a 56-year-old man has died after a two-vehicle collision in Brock township.

Officers say a pickup truck that was travelling eastbound on Highway 48 drifted into the path of a westbound dump truck loaded with gravel. The head-on collision caused the dump truck to rollover and the driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was also injured and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the cause of the crash is still unknown, but weather conditions do not appear to be a significant contributing factor.

Highway 48 was closed for at least several hours between 14 Concession Road and 17 Side Road in Brock for clean up and an investigation.

Witnesses are encouraged to contact police.
