4 arrested in alleged North York robbery, police officer injured

Four males were arrested following an alleged robbery in North York that saw a police officer injured.

Authorities were called to Keele Street and Wilson Avenue at around 4:40 p.m. on Monday for reports of a robbery.

It’s alleged multiple suspects robbed a store and fled in a blue car. Police officers then located the vehicle, and the suspects fled on foot.

Officers eventually arrested all four male suspects. One officer sustained a lower leg injury during the arrest.

A police spokesperson tells 680News Radio that three of the four accused are youths under 18. Their exact ages weren’t immediately provided.

Police also said that it appears the suspect vehicle was involved in a collision with another motorist before the four males fled on foot.

“An occupant in the other involved vehicle went to hospital along with one of the arrested males (injuries are non-life-threatening),” police told CityNews. “I believe the officer was treated at the scene. I do not have information on how the officer’s injury was sustained.”

The store targeted in the robbery is unclear, but police said it was not a jewellery store.

There were road closures in the area at the time of the investigation.
