Youths among 10 charged in firearm, drug raid in Toronto

Three youths are among 10 people arrested in a firearm and drug raid in Toronto that resulted in the seizure of cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone.
Police said on Tuesday, officers executed a search warrant at a residence and vehicle in the Eglinton Avenue West and Caledonia Road area. A separate search warrant was carried out at a residence in the Dufferin Street and Rogers Road area.
In those raids, authorities recovered drugs and firearms, including 934.41 grams of cocaine, 601.34 grams of fentanyl, more than $6,000 in Canadian currency, cell phones, an electronic money counter and a digital scale
and loaded guns along with ammunition.
The suspects identified include Ty Ponte-Ryan, 20, of Toronto; Jafet Arana, 24, of Mississauga; Romeu Sousa Bulhoes, 21, of Toronto; Guilherme Dias, 21, of Toronto; Tyler Shears, 22, of Aurora; Kenneth Merdan Oguzhan, 20, and Steven Moniz, 21, of Toronto.
Three youths aged 16 and 17 were also arrested. Charges range from drug possession and trafficking.
The 10 charged appeared in court on Tuesday. The young persons were not identified by means of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
