Police seek man, woman after victim left with ‘life-altering’ injuries in December assault

Police are searching for a man and a woman after someone was left with “life-altering” injuries following an assault in the Kensington Market area last December.

Investigators say a person was crossing College Street at Augusta Avenue around 2 a.m. on December 1, 2024, when they were struck by a driver.

Police allege the driver of the vehicle stopped to yell at the victim and challenged them to a fight. After parking the car on Major Street, the person who was struck approached the man and his female passenger.

The driver allegedly pulled a knife and slashed the victim before he and his passenger got back into the car and fled the area.

Police say the victim suffered “life-altering” injuries as a result of the attack, which was not reported to them until two days later.

The driver is described as having brown skin, approximately 25 years old, five-foot-seven to five-foot-eight, unshaven with long hair. He was last seen wearing an orange or brown jacket.

The female passenger is described as white with long back hair.

The vehicle is described as possibly a light-coloured, four-door, older model Mercedes-Benz E coupe.
