Targeted shooting leaves 25‑year‑old man dead in Brampton

A 25-year-old man was killed in a late-night shooting at a Brampton plaza, where Peel police say they are investigating a targeted incident.

Peel Regional Police (PRP) are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting in Brampton on Monday evening.

Just after 7 p.m. on Dec. 8, officers were called to the area of Hurontario Street and Bartley Bull Parkway following reports of gunfire. When frontline patrol units arrived, they found a vehicle that had been shot at.

Inside, police located an unresponsive 25‑year‑old man from Brampton suffering from obvious trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the suspect or suspects fled before officers arrived. The homicide unit has taken over the investigation, which police believe was a targeted incident.

Authorities have not released further details about the victim or possible suspects.

Detectives are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the shooting to come forward.
