OxiClean Pitchman Billy Mays Found Dead In Florida Home

OxiClean pitchman Billy Mays has died.

His wife Deborah discovered his body Sunday morning in their Florida home. The celebrity spokesperson was 50 years old.

The cause of death has not been revealed.

She released a brief statement shortly after his death was confirmed.

“Although Billy lived a public life, we don’t anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times.”

On Saturday, Mays was onboard a U.S. Airways flight from Philadelphia that had a rough landing at the Tampa International Airport.

At the time, Mays posted a message on Twitter about the incident:

“Just had a close call landing in Tampa. The tires blew out upon landing. Stuck in the plane on the runway. You can always count on US Air.”

This is the message he wrote on June 27: “Getting ready to fly back to Tampa from Philly. Monday is the big day (HIP REPLACEMENT NO.3) Keep you posted.”

Mays had recently started his own television show, “Pitchmen.” It showed viewers the behind-the-scenes aspect of being a salesman.
