Hold-and-secures lifted at Mississauga schools after serious stabbing

The hold-and-secures at two Mississauga schools were ended less than an hour after they were put in place due to a serious stabbing nearby.

Police ordered the precautionary measure at Saint Sebastian Catholic Elementary School and Artesian Drive Public School, near Winston Churchill Boulevard and Eglinton Avenue West, around 11 a.m. Friday.

A male victim was taken to hospital in critical condition after he was found with stab wounds at a townhouse complex on Artesian Drive after 10:30 a.m.

Emergency task force officers and the canine unit were called in to search for suspects.
