Britney Spears’s Hair Can Be Had For US$1M

Pop singer Britney Spears may be regretting a decision to shave her head over the weekend, but the owners of the California salon where she did the deed are laughing.
Esther Tognozzi, who owns Esther’s Hair Studio, is hoping to auction off the singer’s hair for more than US$1 million. She set up a website, www.buybritneyshair.com, and is hoping to start a bidding frenzy for the golden locks.
Spears, who has recently been spotted wearing a blond wig, made the apparently rash decision to shave off her hair on Friday. According to reports she went into the salon and asked a stylist to cut off all her hair. When the stylist refused, she picked up some hair clippers and did the job herself.
The winning bidder for Britney’s hair will also receive those clippers, a cigarette lighter Spears left at the salon, and a can of Red Bull she’d been drinking.
One catch is that the buyer will have to pick up the hair from the studio, located in Tarzana, Calif. A portion of the proceeds will go to charity, the owners insist, but specific charities weren’t named.
Co-owner J.T. Tognozzi said they put the hair up for sale on eBay but the listing was cancelled for some reason.
The reason could relate to the scads of fake listings for Britney’s hair, some as far away as the UK and Germany.
A spokesperson for eBay warned potential buyers to carefully consider what they’re thinking about purchasing and only go ahead if they’re certain of its authenticity.
Spears, who also sported a new tattoo Friday, has made headlines across North America since she split from husband Kevin Federline for her wild lifestyle.
