Paris Hilton and her publicist Elliot Mintz have apparently made amends. Mintz, whom the 26-year-old socialite fired over the weekend over the recent driving arrest that could see her behind bars next month, is apparently back on Hilton’s payroll.
“I represent Paris and I’m proud to,” Mintz said Tuesday after meeting with his client the night before. “We talked, and our media relationship resumes uninterrupted.” On Friday Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail over a probation violation relating to her driving. She was caught behind the wheel despite having her license suspended after pleading no contest to an earlier charge of reckless driving.
Hilton contended that Mintz had told her she was able to drive for work-related functions, but the judge refused to accept that story even though the publicist took the stand to defend her. The spokesperson released a statement Sunday saying he was no longer working for Hilton. But it seems the fractured relationship has since mended itself, and Mintz is once again working for the hotel heiress. There’s no word on what made Hilton hire him back. Her lawyers are appealing the jail sentence. If the appeal doesn’t succeed, Hilton is supposed to report to the Century Regional Detention Facility on the outskirts of Los Angeles by June 5.
