Firefighters battle 2-alarm fire near Gerrard & Parliament

Toronto firefighters extinguished a two-alarm blaze at an apartment complex near Gerrard Street East and Parliament Street on Sunday night.
Toronto Fire Capt. David Eckerman told CityNews there was heavy fire from the north and south sides of building when fire crews arrived on scene sometime after 9:30 p.m.
The fire, which is believed to have started in the basement, was knocked down just after 10 p.m.
Some people had some minor smoke inhalation but there were no serious injuries reported.
