Dominican Republic police probe alleged murder of Toronto man

Investigators in the Dominican Republic are probing the apparent murder of a Toronto man in the resort town of Sosua, near Puerto Plata.
Marcel Adam, 68, was found dead on Friday, but police believe he may have been killed three days earlier.
Initial reports indicate he may have been shot, or hit on the head with a sharp object.
The foreign affairs department in Ottawa confirmed it was aware of the death of a Canadian citizen in the Dominican Republic.
It said Canadian consular officials in Santo Domingo are working closely with local authorities to gather additional information and are providing consular assistance to the family.
