Being honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame turned into a trip down memory lane for Matt Damon on Wednesday. The 36-year-old whose latest film is ” The Bourne Ultimatum” said the event reminded him of the years when he was a struggling actor living in a cramped apartment on Hollywood Blvd. with longtime pal Ben Affleck. He said he used to look at the stars on the sidewalk and dream of seeing his name on one of them someday.
“A few times in my life I’ve had these experiences that are just kind of too big to process and this looks like it’s going to be one of those times,” he said during a Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony attended by his wife, mother and a throng of screaming fans.
The star of upcoming thriller “The Bourne Ultimatum,” then gave a nod to his hometown baseball team. “I’m thankful the Red Sox are in first place,” said Damon, who grew up in Boston.
The actor won an Oscar with Affleck in 1998 for ” Good Will Hunting.” He has also starred in ” The Departed,” ” The Good Shepherd” and the ” Ocean’s Eleven” franchise. He plays the amnesiac assassin Jason Bourne in ” The Bourne Identity” and its two sequels.
