Parking officer finds car belonging to Pickering murder suspect

By News Staff

A parking enforcement officer found a car that may belong to the man suspected of murdering his pregnant wife.

The body of Arianna Goberdhan, 27, of Ajax, was found at a home on Winville Road in Pickering around 9:45 p.m. Friday night. She was nine months pregnant. Her husband, Nicholas Tyler Baig, 25, was apprehended at a home in Markham late Saturday night.

Baig is charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody.

Results of the autopsy concluded that the victim was stabbed to death as she suffered sharp force trauma.

A car that Durham police believe belongs to Baig was found early on Monday morning. It was found on Lee Avenue in Toronto, near Queen Street and Woodbine Avenue, thanks to the “diligent” work of parking enforcement officers, police told CityNews.

Police do not know if Baig will also face charges in the death of the unborn child, saying that is an issue for the prosecutor to consider.
